Welcome to A Positive Place 4U. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before using our services.

1. Introduction

Welcome to A Positive Place 4U. By engaging in coaching and counselling sessions with me, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. These are designed to create a clear understanding of how we will work together, ensuring a professional, respectful and supportive experience.

2. Services

A Positive Place 4U provides coaching and counselling sessions aimed at supporting personal development, emotional wellbeing and growth.

Sessions are not clinical psychological treatment. I am not a psychologist but I have the education and professional skills to work effectively with clients who do not require clinical or psychiatric care.

If at any point I believe your needs would be better supported by another professional (e.g. a GP, psychologist or psychiatrist), I may recommend a referral.

3. Sessions and Fees

  • A standard session lasts 50 minutes.
  • The standard fee is €60 per session, unless otherwise agreed in writing before the start of the engagement.
  • Sessions can be held in person in The Hague or online via a mutually agreed platform.
  • Payment is due by bank transfer at least 24 hours before the scheduled session.

Cancellations, confidentiality, and online sessions

4. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • You may cancel or reschedule a session with at least 24 hours’ notice.
  • Cancellations or rescheduling made less than 24 hours before the session will be charged in full, except in cases of genuine emergency.
  • Repeated cancellations or missed sessions may result in termination of the coaching/counselling relationship.

5. Confidentiality

All information shared in sessions is confidential and will not be disclosed to anyone without your consent, except where required by law or professional ethics.

Exceptions include:

  • If there is reason to believe that you or someone else is at risk of serious harm.
  • If information is requested by a court of law.

In such cases, I will always aim to discuss the situation with you before taking any action, whenever possible.

6. Contact Between Sessions

Between sessions, I am available only for brief administrative matters, such as scheduling or payment queries.

I do not provide a support service outside scheduled sessions.

If you are in crisis or need immediate help, please contact your GP, call 112 for emergency assistance or reach out to a local crisis helpline.

7. Online Sessions

When sessions are conducted online:

  • It is your responsibility to ensure you have a private and quiet space for the session.
  • Technical issues occasionally occur; if they prevent a full session, we will reschedule where possible.
  • The same confidentiality and ethical principles apply as for in-person sessions.

Data, termination, liability and governing law

8. Record Keeping and Data Protection

Basic notes may be kept for professional and continuity purposes.

All records are stored securely and in compliance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) requirements.

You may request to view or correct your personal information at any time.

9. Termination of Services

You may choose to end sessions at any time. I may also suggest ending or pausing our work if it seems that coaching/ counselling is no longer appropriate or beneficial.

In either case, I recommend a final session to review progress and ensure a positive closure.

10. Liability

While every effort is made to provide a supportive and professional service, A Positive Place 4U cannot guarantee specific outcomes.

You remain responsible for your own decisions, actions and wellbeing throughout and after the coaching or counselling process.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of The Netherlands. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Dutch courts.

12. Agreement

By booking and attending a session with A Positive Place 4U, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
